Holly Strachan and Chloe Bowness are part of the Wellbeing Team at St Christopher’s School.
The Wellbeing Team is a newly established pathway in the school, one that we are very excited to be part of. Student wellbeing is of the utmost importance and we believe that if a student’s social and emotional needs are being met, then their academic attainment will naturally progress. We offer a range of one-to-one and small group interventions focusing on emotional literacy, social skills, communication skills and mental health support.
We work under the direction of the Heads of School and Senior Leadership Team, in partnership with other professionals, to offer practical help and social, emotional and mental health support to pupils and families who may be experiencing concerns with parenting, education, behaviour, attendance and health.
We are able to offer support to the families of our school and hope to continue to forge strong links between school and home and to develop a good parent partnership by supporting activities and workshops that encourage parents into the school.
Working with outside agencies is an important part of the Wellbeing Team; we work with CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), Healthy Minds, Educational Psychologists, Counselling Services and Early Intervention Teams to name a few, so you can be sure to get the right information and help needed.
We also support teaching staff and represent the school at TAC (Team Around the Child), CIN (Child In Need) and Core Group Meetings. We support children and families who receive Pupil Premium and
those children that are CIC (Child In Care). We attend regular educational meetings to ensure they are achieving to the best of their ability.
If you have any worries or concerns regarding your child, in the first instance please contact their class teacher either by email, telephone or booking an appointment. The Wellbeing Team are
also more than happy to assist you with any enquiries and concerns you have and are available at school from Monday until Friday.
You can contact us on the main school number - 01522 300973 / 01522 528378 - or email us at school.
